Music School for the Blind in Laski


The multiplier event took place on 13 April 2025 at the Music School for the Blind in Laski. There were 28 participants: four representatives of EKMS, sixteen blind students and eight teachers and assistants.

The main goals of the MuVie project were reviewed and the tools offered by MuVie were briefly described. The MuVie website was presented as a source of accessible materials. The European library was presented, revealing around 550 compositions that have been uploaded so far. EKMS has prepared the first version of the library guidelines in Polish, and these are now accessible at the school. We have also attached an English version of the material. The two programmes: Braille Music Reader 2025 and Braille Music Editor 2025, were briefly described, with the main differences being highlighted. A test installation of BMR2025 was carried out and the Polish tutorials were demonstrated. Blind students were encouraged to dictate a simple tune, which was transcribed in BMML and then played on the laptop at different tempos and measures. The students had the opportunity to read the score on a braille display and even write individual notes. Some participants declared their readiness to start using the presented software, and EKMS promised to provide initial training support.
